Do you get the “Error during initialization: Unhandled exception caught”

To remedy this problem click:

Start->Control Panel->Sound
Right Click on the default playback device (e.g. Speakers) and click properties. From there select the Advanced tab.

To eliminate this error the default playback format must be set at 24 bit 48000Hz (Studio Quality). Simply select this from the dropdown list and apply the settings.


Try launching the game now-Everything should run fine.

As you probably know Punkbuster comes in the form of two main parts. (They did introduce a third - punkbusterK - but then removed it with one of the updates) You have punkbusterA and punkbusterB.

PunkbusterB initiates secondary after punkbusterA, and it's punkbusterB that causes me the headaches.Youi get kicked with an error message saying PunkbusterB handshaking failes or PunkbusterB failed to initialise. Evenbalance are about as much use as a slap in the belly with a wet fish - no help what-so-ever.

However, in windows 7 if you go to your windows/SysWOW64 folder you can find the punkbuster elements. Running a different compatability on pnkbstrb usually does the trick. Sometimes I just have to restart 'puter - that tends to solve it too. (WaW is just more awkward - once it goes ... often that's it)

Yours is the only modded WaW server I'm showing. I've been busy editing images for CoD2 and MW for a while . I will do some for your WaW shortly.

I just wish I could play in it more . Damn!

Since closing our stuff down I've had a whale of a time playing all sorts of ouwe muk. hehe

Incl. CoD2. Can't believe that still plays so well .... and how many servers - modded and stock are still going. There's some really good stuff out there still!

You know my friend you just pointed something out to me that I hadn't shown enough consideration.

My aim is to showcase highest quality servers, Clans, communities - yet I have a couple of cracked servers in my listings.

You are absolutely right. They are out of place.
