Using Vavle's HLDS Update Tool

• The Valve HLDSUpdateTool utility can be found for both Linux and Windows

There are currently no support to run MW3 dedicated server on Linux

• You can get the tool for windows HERE
• Once downloaded, install the tool
• Create a folder to receive MW3 Server Files, making sure you have the space to do so (files are about 14Gb in total) - Example folder here will be F:\MW3Server\
• Start a DOS command line (Start > Run > Type in "cmd") and navigate to where hldsupdatetool.exe has been installed
• Type in the following command:

hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game modernwarfare3 -dir "F:\MW3Server" -retry This will check install folder MW3Server and update/install the files for you.

I strongly recommend you to check the next chapter in order to reduce the size of the Server Files.

Minimum Files Required

• These are the minimum file list required to run a Dedi server, its about 7.7GB
